Dee Lewis, President,  called the meeting to order at 1:33 pm. The meeting was held in person and via Microsoft Teams.

Minutes of the September 6, 2021, meeting had been emailed in advance of the meeting.  Wally Paynter moved that the minutes be approved; Kim Ashby seconded the motion. The motion carried and the minutes were approved.

Committee Reports:

Prevention Committee.  Chairman Laura Wathen was not present.  The committee will meet after this meeting concludes

Law Enforcement Committee.  Chairman Daren Harmon gave the drug statistics for September and October, which are attached.   Drug arrests have reached the pre-pandemic status quo.  Narcotics usage appears to have increased.  There is also an increase in vaping tickets.  He also mentioned a breaking case where an Evansville child had used fentanyl.  The Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice Committee met on October 20.  They gathered statistics for the 2022 CCP.

Treatment Committee:  Chairman Jackie Hughes reported that the committee met prior on October 13.  The committee are gathering data and working on the SMART goals for the CCP.

Nominating Committee:  Chairman Jill Hoskins presented the committee’s nominees for office.  The slate of candidates for SAC officers is attached.  Dee Lewis asked if there were any nominations from the floor.  There were none.  Elections will be held at the annual meeting on December 6.  Wally Paynter announced that at the December meeting he will ask each candidate what his plan for the future operations of the council will be as Drug Free Communities Funds dwindle.

Director’s Report:  Dan Miller reported on the director’s activities since the last meeting.  His written report is attached to these minutes. 

Previous Business:

              Fall Festival:  Dan gave the report for the Fall Festival.  Not all the bills are in, but the Fall Festival booth did extremely well.  The total revenue was $9,089.00, compared to $5,442.00 in 2019.  Daily revenue was also higher compared to 2019.  He also recounted how he and Jill Hoskins dealt with supply chain issues; expenses will be higher because they had to find certain ingredients at retail when contracted suppliers were unable to fill the orders.  Dan also gave a shout out to Mike Gray who assisted Jill and Dan with getting an infusion of change to the booth on Tuesday night.

New Business:

Elections:  will be held at our Annual Meeting on December 6.  Dee Lewis announced that members may be in person or virtual and that voting can take place either way.

2022 Faces of Change:  Dan reported that it had been at least two years since the SAC had held a Faces of Change workshop.  This is a mostly revenue neutral event as we have gotten sponsors to help it.  He thinks we can resume it in 2022.  This would be an effort of the treatment committee and the events committee.  Of the members present, it was ascertained, based on past experience, that Brentwood Springs can be a meal sponsor, the YWCA can sponsor breakfast (?), Southwestern Behavioral Health can host us in the Welborn Conference room, Deaconess can print material, and either Deaconess or Southwestern can handle getting CEUs for participants.  Dan will work with these organizations and the treatment committee to get a date and a plan for a Faces of Change event in the spring of 2022.

Presentations:

Patchwork Central:  Molly Fahrlander and Katie McMahon presented on the SPARKs program being funded by SAC.  SPARKS is designed to help youth be more resilient, make better choices and avoid risky behaviors.  They had 33 participants in grades K through 8; those were lower pandemic numbers.  The participants come from the neighborhoods around Patchwork Central; 88% of the families were below 80% of the median income for the county

Vanderburgh Adult Probation:  Elizabeth Greenwell presented for the probation department.  1064 offenders were place on alcohol or drug probation in 2021.  They were supervised both pre- and post-sentencing.  They were predominantly level 6 alcohol related felonies and any level drug felony case.  The probation department received a grant in 2020 for Thinking for a Change, which it received permission to roll over into 2021.  Thinking for a Change is a behavioral modification program for high risk offenders.  It needs to be done in person, and the Probation Department is scheduling sessions for 2022.  A second grant is for drug screening; the grant enabled the purchase of a 15 panel test that includes fentanyl and some synthetic drugs.  So far 660 persons have been tested with 323 positives:  118 for THC, 69 for methamphetamine, 62 for amphetamine, 42 for ethyl glucuronide (an alcohol metabolite), 12 for fentanyl, 8 for cocaine, and 6 for benzodiazepines.  The third grant is for bus tokens which enables probations whose driving privileges have been suspended or have no transportation to appear for daily breathalyzers, drug screens and SUD treatment.

Groups Recover Together:  JoAnn Delisle introduced us to Groups Recover Together, which is a program that offer outpatient MAT (suboxone) to adults in recovery.  It is 100% virtual.  Someone at Groups takes phone calls 24/7, where the caller can complete a 6-question in-take examination.  That leads to a 90 minute bio-social intake interview which facilitates a provider evaluation.  Patients, except those who are pregnant can be prescribed 16 mg of suboxone or less.  They only deal in e-scripts.  Patients have to submit to 12 panel urinalysis testing.  They take Medicaid and Medicare, as well as most insurance.

Announcements:  

Wally Paynter announced that TSA had its Halloween Dance this past Saturday and that there were 500 youth middle to high school in attendance.  He also announced that November 20 is Transgender Day of Remembrance.

The Annual meeting is scheduled Monday, December 6, at 1:30, at Central Library, Browning Room B. 

Prevention Committee will meet today after the general membership meeting.

The next Executive Committee Meeting is Monday, November 18, at noon, via Microsoft Teams.

Wally Paynter moved to adjourn the meeting; the motion was seconded by Kim Ashby.  The motion passed, and President Dee Lewis adjourned the meeting.

James Akin, Chairman of Screening Committee,  called the virtual meeting to order at 1:32 pm. The meeting was held via Zoom.  Introductions followed.

Minutes of the August 2, 2021, meeting had been emailed in advance of the meeting. Wally Paynter made one correction: that it was members of the Transgender Action Coalition who had been listed as guests in previous minutes.  Wally Paynter moved that the minutes be approved as corrected; Elizabeth Greenwell seconded the motion. The motion carried and the minutes were approved as corrected.

Committee Reports:

Prevention Committee.  Chairman Laura Wathen was not present.  The committee will meet after this meeting concludes

Law Enforcement Committee.  Chairman Daren Harmon gave the drug statistics for August.   In September 2 deaths were attributed to overdoses.  The committee met prior to this meeting.  It will meet again on October 20 at 1:30 to gather data and begin work on the Comprehensive Community Plan.

Treatment Committee:  Chairman Jackie Hughes reported that the committee met prior to this meeting.  They are scheduled to meet again on October 13 at 1:00 p.m. to gather data and begin work on the Comprehensive Plan.

Nominating Committee:  Chairman Jill Hoskins reported that they have received some nominations and encouraged members to nominate others or themselves to be candidates for election.  The committee must have a nominating slate by November 1, 2021.

Director’s Report:  Dan Miller reported on the director’s activities since the last meeting.  His written report is attached to these minutes. 

Previous Business:

              Race for Recovery:  Dan gave the wrap-up report, the written copy of which is attached.  We did have AMR present for the race.  That was one of the expenses.  Fortunately, none of the racers need AMR’s assistance.

              Fall Festival Booth Committee will meet next on September 20, 2021, after the Executive Committee meets at noon.

New Business:

              Community Resource Fair:  This Fair is co-sponsored by Smoke Free Evansville.  It is Saturday, October 18, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  Set up begins at 9:00.  SAC will have a booth at the Fair, similar to what we did at National Night Out.  Members can stop by at any time to help with the booth.

              Wally Paynter questioned about progress on a hybrid meeting.  Dan indicated he did not pursue when the executive committee voted to make this meeting virtual, and the next meeting is not until November 1.

Presentations:

NOW Counseling:  Shay Wood presented for the treatment provider and outlined their various services.  The SAFE Now program received an SAC grant that enables them to provide telehealth services for persons with Substance Use Disorder.

Beacon Recovery:  Jackie Hughes present for the treatment provider.  Beacon is part of ECHO Health at 401 John Street.  They offer SUD treatment, including Vivitrol with outpatient counseling.  A psychiatrist and a psychiatric nurse practitioner are also on staff for patients.  They received a treatment grant from SAC that funds treatment materials for patients who cannot afford them.

SAC SMART goals:  Dan gave a powerpoint presentation on the SAC problem statements and SMART goals in the current Comprehensive Community Plan.  He pointed out that they need to be revised.  Specifically, some need to be re-worded, some need to be real SMART goals, and the total number needs to be reduced.  To do that, we need to gather data, and individual members need to be gathering data from grants and their own areas of expertise in dealing with substance abuse.

The next meeting is scheduled Monday, November 1, at 1:30, at Central Library, Browning Room A. 

Treatment Committee will meet Wednesday, October 13 at 1:00 pm in the conference room at 501 John Street or virtually with Microsoft Teams.

Law Enforcement Committee will meet Wedneday, October 20, at 1:30 pm. in the conference room at 501 John Street or virtually with Microsoft Teams.

Prevention Committee will meet Monday, November 1, after the general membership meeting.

The next Executive Committee Meeting is Monday, August 16, at noon, via Microsoft Teams.

President Dee Lewis called the meeting to order at 1:32 pm at the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library, Central Campus, Browning Room A.  Introductions followed.

Minutes of the July 12, 2021, meeting had been emailed in advance of the meeting. Crystal Sisson moved that the minutes be approved as written; Kim Ashby seconded the motion. The motion carried and the minutes were approved.

Presentations:  President Lewis moved the presentations ahead of the business so the presenters could make other appointments.

1.  Cheryl McDermott from Alkermes gave a presentation on medications assisted treatments (M.A.T.).  Her company manufacturers Vivitrol (naltrexone), which blocks the effects of opiate drugs and alcohol.  She compared the relative benefits and drawbacks of naltrexone, methadone and buprenorphine.  Vivitrol can now be prescribed without a waiver.  However, the patient must be fully detoxed, and the drug must be dispensed in a physician’s office.

2.  Ben Joergens from Old National Bank spoke about the financial education training he piloted, called 12 Steps to Financial Success.  He piloted the program in the Henderson County Jail.  He has used it in the federal penitentiary in Terre Haute and had adapted it for use in probationary and other non-custodial settings.

              Race for Recovery:  This was the last membership meeting before the race.  Dan announced that set up will take place at 6:00 a.m. on August 28.  Registration begins at 7:00 am with the race beginning at 8:00 am.  Dan had maps showing the course for the 5K run and the 1-mile walk and a sponsor list.  Race Sponsors so far include Southwestern Behavioral Health, Counseling for Change, Maglinger Home Based Services, Community Corrections, Anthem, Brentwood Springs, Deaconess, Brighter Side Treatment Center, Groups Recover Together, Smoke Free Evansville, and Baird.  Dan asked volunteers to sign up for spots at the registration table, passing out water and snacks, setting up banners and tables,  serving as course directions, and  taking photographs.  Certain sponsors had the option to have a promotional table, and we need tables for registration and snacks.  Rise Up and Run will provide 4 tables.  Dan has a table he can bring.  He asked if anyone could bring additional tables.  Courtney Horning volunteered to bring 2 tables.  Dan announced that Anthem had donated shopping bags to be given away at the race.  He invited organizations to bring him items to place in the bags which will be given to each race participant.  He also scheduled a time to assemble goody bags, August 27 at 11:30 at the Substance Abuse Council Offices.  Dan asked for volunteers to help, and he will provide lunch. Save the Date cards and registration forms were available; on-line registration is available with Rise Up and Run at https://register.chronotrack.com/r/62236.  Dan asked if anyone could provide a First Aid station; that has not been provided in the past.  Stacey Kuder will ask Deaconess if the hospital can do it.  He will also check with AMR.  Dan also asked Boom Squad if they would be willing to perform at the race; Kim will get back with me.

              Fall Festival Committee will meet next on August 16, 2021, after the Executive Committee meets at noon.

              National Night Out:  Jill Hoskins and Dan are all set for our table at National Night Out on August 3, 2021, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Carver Community Center. 

              ICJI:  Dan reported that he submitted the first quarterly report to ICJI on time.

              Other business:  Wally Paynter of TSA questioned why members of his organization were listed as guests in previous meetings’ minutes.  He complained that only members of his organization were listed as guests.  Dan replied that he had previously listed members as guests if he did not recognize who they were.  Last meeting was the first time people physically signed into the meeting.  That will help tremendously in updating the membership and keeping it current.  Dan is keeping track of the actual attendance at SAC meetings over time.  Wally also suggested that we try to have hybrid meetings, both in person and virtual.  He suggested that the library that the library has the technology to do that.  Dan will look into that possibility for the next meeting.

New Business:

              Date of the next meeting:  The meeting is currently scheduled for September 6, which happens to be Labor Day.  By consensus of the group, the meeting date was changed to September 13.

              Committee meetings:  Law Enforcement, Treatment and Prevention Committees have not met.  Dan indicated that they should be meeting at least 4 times per year, according to the by-laws.  In the past, the functional committees met prior to and subsequent to the general membership meeting.  Laura Wathen moved that the treatment committee meet at 1:00 pm. prior to the general membership meeting, law enforcement committee at 1:15 pm, and prevention committee after the general membership meeting.  Wally Paynter seconded the motion.  The motion passed.  Dan will set up the committee meetings for those times on September 12, 2021.

              Officer elections:  The terms of the current officers expire at the end of 2021.  The President and Vice-President are elected to 2-year terms and may serve only two terms consecutively.  President Lewis has selected a nominating committee of Jill Hoskins, chairman, Jackie Hughes and Kevin Groves.  All nominations should be submitted to Jill Hoskins or to Dan Miller

Presentations:

Dan passed the presentation schedule for the 2021 grantees, starting at the September meeting.  NOW Counseling and Beacon Recovery are on the list for September presentations.

The next meeting is scheduled Monday, September 13, at 1:30, at Central Library, Browning Room A.

President Dee Lewis called the meeting to order at 1:31 pm at the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library, Central Campus, Browning Room A.  As this was the first in-person meeting in many months, President Lewis had everyone in the room introduce themselves.

Minutes of the June 7, 2021, meeting had been emailed in advance of the meeting. Crystal Sisson moved that the minutes be approved as written; Jackie Hughes seconded the motion. The motion carried

Prevention Committee.  Laura Wathen, chairman, was on vacation.

Law Enforcement Committee.  Chairman Daren Harmon was on vacation.

Treatment Committee:  Chairman Jackie Hughes had no report.

Director’s Report:  Dan Miller reported on the director’s activities since the last meeting.  His written report is attached to these minutes. 

Previous Business:

              2021 Grants:  All vouchers have now been submitted to the Auditor’s Office.  Grantees should now have their funds.  If a grantee has not yet received funding, please contact Dan.

              Fall Festival Booth Committee:  The committee met on June 28.  The next committee meeting is August 16 after the executive committee meeting.  Please contact Dan if you want to be included and he will send you the link.

              Race for Recovery:  Dan passed out Save the Date Cards, registration forms and sponsorship proposals.  If anyone needs more, please contact Dan and he will deliver them.  The registration fee will remain $20.00.  Sponsorship commitments need to be in by July 23; a check can come later.  Logos for the shirt need to be in by July 23.  Dan has ordered t-shirts, but has finalized the design yet.

              National Night Out:  Dan asked for a couple of volunteers for our table at National Night Out on August 3, 2021, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Carver Community Center.  Volunteers do not have to commit to the entire time.

              12-month (final) reports for the 2020 grants.  All but 3 grantees have submitted final reports.  Dan has read through all submitted reports.  He delivered a short powerpoint presentation on the kinds of data that should be in the Substance Abuse Council progress reports.  He highlighted submissions by the Drug and Alcohol Deferral Services (D.A.D.S.), Holly’s House and Patchwork Central.  He encouraged grantees to keep in mind the following 4 questions as they implemented the 2021 grants using SAC funds:

              What data are you collecting?

              What data can you collect?

              What data should you collect?

              What is your baseline data?

New Business:

              ICJI Quarterly Reports:  The first of these is due this week, July 15.  Dan also met with Cory Smith of ICJI for a critique of the 2021 Comprehensive Community Plan.  We need to update our data, and refine our problem statements and SMART goals.

Presentations:

1. Deaconess Cross Pointe:  Elissa Jones reported on their Improving Recovery Through Technology grant.  They were able to purchase the Field Guide to Life app from Hazelden.  The app included 12-step reminders, hints on how to stop cravings, daily inspirations, and a days in sobriety counter, among many other services.  Shortly after the purchase and due to the pandemic, Hazelden began offering the app free of charge.  Deaconess was able to give away 42 (of 400).  If a patient received a free app, Deaconess had not ability to monitor whether the patient utilized the app.  Deaconess will continue to give the apps to patients.

• Vanderburgh Superior Court, Misdemeanor Division:  Leslie Jackson, chief probation officer, reported on the grant for a verification officer.  A verification officer is a law enforcement officer employed part time by the probation office to visit probationers outside of regular business hours and check on compliance, including the administration of breathalyzers.  The office is supervised by Judge Pigman.  It has 4 probation officers, 254 probationers, 20 pending probationers, 30 mental health cases, 54 probationers who are AWOL, and 40 probation transfers from other counties.

• Legislative Update:  Dan Miller gave a powerpoint presentation on legislation to go into effect in July, and that will affect SAC members.  He covered the legislation on suspendable sentences for Level 2 and 3 felony drug dealing offenders, the limited defense for operating a vehicle with THC in the bloodstream, the funding of Recovery Works, the funding available through FSSA for mental health, specifically relating to suicide and overdose prevention, and the protection of the home addresses of probation and community corrections officers.

Announcements:

• Kevin Groves announced the Southwestern Behavioral Health was hosting an in-person community forum on Domestic Violence and Substance Use Disorder tomorrow, July 13 at 6:00 pm.  A light meal will be served.  Reservations are required by 5:00 pm today.
• Jane Vickers announced that Patchwork Central is having its “Bag to School” sale for families of children in grades K through 6 on July 31.  She advised us to tell interested families to get there early (7:30 am) because they tend to sell out quick.
• Dan reported that SAC received a free copy of Kevin Sabet’s book, Smoke Screen, at the SAC office.  He has read his own copy, and he invited members to borrow it from the office.

I received and read 2020 grant 12-month reports, which were due June 25.  Some are late; some are still outstanding.  As I am doing this, I am making mental notes on things that need to be changed (1) with what the report asks for and (2) with our comprehensive plan. 

Race for Recovery:  Sent out sponsorship proposals, solicited t-shirt prices, and tried to make contact with the National Recovery Month sponsor, and with Rise Up and Run.  I obtained a Certificate of Insurance for the Event, inventoried sponsor banners stored in the office, and ordered Save the Date cards.

Fall Festival:  Obtained a Certificate of Insurance for the event and sent in our Munchie Map selections.  I had to resend our contract because when I sent in the Munchie Map, he did not have our contract.  He later found it, but I was sweating bullets.  Luckily, I had sent it and had requested confirmation that he had received it, and I still had that email.

I reserved the Browning Room for our July and August meetings.  I also set up and tested Microsoft Teams for smaller meetings such as our executive committee and subcommittee meetings.  It was good that I set up a test session because it failed spectacularly, but we succeeded on our third try.

I scheduled a critique of our CCP with Cory Smith and participated in that critique.  I asked to be critiqued early (he was going to do it in August) because I wanted to know what we need to work on.  The critique:  we need to work on updating our data, narrowing our problem statements to no more than 3, and refining our SMART goals.

While this was not in the scope of my employment, I attended the IPAC Summer Conference and moderated a panel discussion with elected prosecutors about Indiana’s Evidence Based Decision Making initiative and the pretrial reform pilots in Indiana.  That same week I was interviewed for a case study of EBDM focused on Indiana.

The meeting via Zoom was called to order by President Dee Lewis at 1:30 p.m.

Minutes of the May 3, meeting had been emailed in advance of the meeting. Wally Paynter made one correction to the attendance list.  Bri Bolin was incorrectly listed as Brad Bolin.  Wally Paynter moved to approve the minutes as corrected; Daren Harmon seconded the motion.  The minutes were approved as corrected.

Committee Reports:

Prevention Committee.  Laura Wathen, chairman, had no report.

Law Enforcement Committee.  Chairman Daren Harmon had drug crime filing statistics from May.  His report is attached to these minutes.

Treatment Committee:  Chairman Jackie Hughes had no report.

Director’s Report:  Dan Miller reported on the director’s activities since the last meeting.  His written report is attached to these minutes.  He believes that we can meet in the Browning Room at Central Library at our next meeting on July 12.

Previous Business:

              2021 Grants:  Funding agreements were due on Friday, June 4.  Six funding agreements have not yet been turned in.  Dan submitted vouchers to the Auditor’s Office for all the grants where a funding agreement was turned in.  He must have a signed agreement before he can turn in a voucher.

              2021 Comprehensive Community Plan Update: We received approval for our Comprehensive Community Plan from ICJI.  We received it about a week after we had asked to be placed on the agenda of the County Commissioners to approve our funding requests.  As it turned out, that was the only question the county commissioners had for us: whether ICJI had approved our plan.

              Fall Festival Booth Committee:  The committee had its organizational meeting on May 24.  The next meeting is June 28, via Zoom.

              Race for Recovery:  We have set a date with Rise Up and Run for the Race for Recovery.  It will be Saturday, August 28, at 8:00 am in Garvin Park.  There will be a 5K run and a 1K walk option.  Sponsorship letters need to go out immediately as the time is short.  Recovery Month is September, and while we were not able to get a September date for the run, we could bill our race as a Recovery Month kick-off.

New Business:

              Events Committee:  Dan signed us up to have a booth at National Night Out on Tuesday, August 3, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  He asked the National Night Out organizer what we had done in the past.  She indicated that we had things that we gave away and a game that people could play.  Dan asked the Events Committee to help to devise an activity for National Night Out attendees to participate in.  He also invited members to come and participate in the booth with him.

              Twelve-month grant reports are due June 25, 2021.  Fund rollovers need to be requested before the executive committee meets on June 21.

Presentations:

1. Vanderburgh County Prosecutor’s Office:  Daren Harmon reported on the many activities of the Prosecutor’s Office, including the pretrial diversion program and the WeTip hotline.  He also reported on the program funded with the 2020 SAC grant.  “Hidden in Plain Sight” is a demonstration trailer that shows a teenager’s room and where controlled substances may be hidden.  The  Prosecutor’s Office has purchased the trailer and the supplies, but has not had the opportunity to give any demonstrations due to Covid.  It expects to put the exhibit to use in the next couple of months.

• Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office:   Deputy James Budde gave the report.  5 sheriff’s deputies are assigned to the narcotics task force: 3 plain clothes and 2 uniformed interdiction officers along with a canine.  Deputy Budde talked about the technology challenges they face in enforcing narcotics laws.  Among the items purchased with SAC funds were Faraday bags which are used when seizing cell phones and other electronic devices.  The Faraday bag prevents the device from receiving a signal from outside the bag; this preserves the information on the device by preventing someone from remotely wiping information off the device.  The office is in the process of purchasing 3 smart tablets for officers to use in processing narcotics cases.

• Girl Scouts:  Aimee Stachura described the Girl Scout programs.  They promote girl empowerment with a focus on 4 specific areas:  STEM (Science, Technology and Mathematics), outdoors, life skills, and entrepreneurship.  Their prevention efforts targeted middle and high school girls in underserved areas with the “It’s Your World, Change It” curriculum.  Because of Covid, they had to employ a new facilitation strategy, and acquired an additional partner, the Lilly Foundation, for funding.  They were able to mail their programming to girls in their homes.  Programming included a mental health check, self-care, hands-on coping skills, and emotional support.  They were able to reach 340 girls from six middle schools and two high schools.  They were also able to gather outcome data, and we look forward to seeing that date in their 12-month report.

Announcements:

• TSA announced it was hosting a movie night this coming Saturday at the AMC theater on the west side.  They will resume in-person meetings on June 19 and plan to add a second Zoom only meeting for those who cannot attend in person.
• Youth First has several professional job openings.  It has openings for more than one masters level social worker and for a bilingual (Spanish language) program coordinator.

The next meeting is scheduled Monday, July 12, at 1:30.  Dan Miller will let us know next week whether we have a room for an in-person meeting.

Conversation with Susie Schenk, the coordinator for the Regional Prevention Council.  Turns out her emails were going into my junk email folder.  I have corrected that and we are now able to communicate.  Attended my first meeting of the Vanderburgh Prevention Resource Group.

I submitted our grant funding request to the Vanderburgh County Commissioners along with supporting documentation, that among other things, gave a short synopsis of each of your grants.  I was a bit nervous when I asked to be on the agenda because we had not yet gotten approval from ICJI for our comprehensive plan.  However, the plan was approved, and I was able to supplement my request with the approval letter.  On May 25, I attended the county commissioners meeting.  I was prepared to explain and defend our funding allocations.  It did not come to that.  The only question I was asked was whether we had approval from ICJI for our plan.

Our funding request also included a proposed administrative budget for SAC.  For everyone’s information, the bare-bones budget I included is about $6,000.00 more than what we will receive.  I am not worried this year; we have enough in reserve to make it through to July, 2022, and I will be parsimonious.  However, I worry about the following year because countermeasure fee collections are way down, and I will be surprised if they top $80,000 total for 2021.

I inventoried T-shirts from past Races for Recovery.  We have 200 shirts of varying sizes.  I intend to use them for our booth workers at the Fall Festival.  After Fall Festival, I will be seeking ways to dispose of them.

In preparation for our Fall Festival Booth, I spoke with the salesman about our order for food and supplies.  More on that in the business reports.  I have also inspected the booth and determined that before we do anything else with the booth, we thoroughly scrub it on the inside.

I also looked into a room for in-person meeting for our July meeting.  At present, the Browning rooms appear to be free, but it will not let me book the room more than 30 days in advance.  So I will try at the beginning of next week to book a room for an in-person meeting.  Unless the executive committee tells me otherwise, our next executive committee meeting will still be on Zoom.
